OS Install

Hi everyone, it seems I always create my own problems but I will try to make this short. I have another PC (Dell) , After some problems I started with a clean refomatted harddrive that I needed to install the XP OS on. By my own mistake I used the XP professional upgrade CD instead of the regular startup CD. It went so far and then gave me a notice that it did'nt recognize the CD. After quiting the install and installing the correct CD Its stuck on the screen that says, ( Alert, OS install mode enabled, Press F1 to continue or F2 to run setup utility. Pressing any of these does nothing, its stuck on this screen even on rebooting , I have tried the F8 key also on startup, Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks - Paul

Can you get it to boot with *any* CD? What about a floppy? If so, you can use the hard drive manufacturer's utility to zero fill the drive and start over.

You CAN use the XP Pro upgrade CD to do a clean install of XP if you have a Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP Home CD available. It will do a compliance check, all you have to do is swap CD's for a minute till it's happy, put the XP CD back in, and press on.

Thanks I will give that a try, I was able to get back into the setup utility but that was as far as I could go.
