"System has just recovered from a serious error" problem

Hey all, thanks for the help rendered for my previous qn..
now im suffering from another error (a new one which has been occuring on my own PC
as of late)

here are some specs of my PC
Pentium 4 3.0GHZ
1GB Ram
WinXP Home Edition SP2 (genuine)

the problem i have been getting is as follows:

whenever i am using my pc to do stuff (it can be anything, watching movies, listening to music, etc) it suddenly would

restart.
and when it restarts i'd get this msg "The system has just recovered from a serious error. A log of this error has been

created."

i copied the error details which are as follows:
BCCode : c2 BCP1 : 00000007 BCP2 : 00000CD4 BCP3 : 02060002
BCP4 : 84DB52E0 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 768_1

i dont understand at all what that means. This problem started occuring a few months ago, but as of late (this last week)
it has happened many times, and sometimes my pc freezes and restarts twice in a day!

All the time i get the "This system has just recovered from a serious error." message.

Could something ominous be imminent for my system?
Should i get it checked professionally?

Hope u guys can help me out once again, i would really appreciate that!!

Regards,
dev

Can you give us a full list of the hardware specifications, especially the number of drives, motherboard and power supply make and model?

Go into control panel, system, advanced, startup and recovery. Uncheck restart on error. Next time, it will simply stop on a bluescreen. You need to research the stop error number and verbage to see what may be happening.

Hey guys,
the problems with my PC have gotten worse over the past few weeks.

Software keeps on hanging, and i get crashes more than ever.
I managed to note down the error message i got during one of the "blue screen"
crashes and it goes like this :

-----------------------------
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Technical information:

STOP: 0x00000050 (0xBAD0B148, 0x00000000, 0x8056977B, 0x00000002)
-----------------------------

any clues as to what the prob could be?
should i send it in for repair?

Thanks so much once again,
With warmest regards,
Dev

Most likely faulty system ram memory. Download and run diagnostics.

www.memtest.org

Get the precompiled package for DOS - Floppy if you have a floppy drive, otherwise get the CD .iso. Make the media then boot with it.

hi glc,
hi all, i ran memtest86 on my pc for about 8 hours, with no errors found in the ram.
moreover, i checked for the rootkit as stated on the site http://support.microsoft.com/?id=894278 and it came up negative.
so we can rule that out as possibilities.

what else do u reckon could be the problem> a failing motherboard, processor or overheating perhaps? is there any way i can diagnose a motherboard/processor that may be failing?

Now it's time to start updating and/or rolling back drivers.
