Lightbulb why doesnt microsoft make/sale

a cd with all the updates for win98 all on one disk, for say $5 or $10 plus shipping. I would purchase one..

they could call it win 98 final updates..

shoot they could do that for win 95 and w 2.11 also..

there are still alot of us out here that run those just for the fun of it.

If you search, you can find sites that either have them or instructions on how to download them all and burn your own CD. Microsoft does not WANT to support old operating systems.

Exactly.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the major distributors of Anti-XXXX drop support for 98 in the very near future.

I think I just read somewhere that M$ would no longer be supporting any OSes other than 2K and XP after the next month or so. There will still be Knowledge Base articles, but no more updates or support.

i was just thinking that if they would produce a one time run of auto run cds with the updates for a discontinued product they would sale to the people that run those os's.. it would be easier and more complete than searching for all the updates.. some of which are no longer on thier site.. shoot with all the server storage they have what is the harm in storing the all in a one downloadable package kind of link the major update to xp that they had ..

just a thought.. guess i will do it the slow and cumbersome way..
