Cpu 100%

I recently upgraded to windows XP. Now when running one of my games Never Winters Nights the game halts and i get the message from task manager,

CPU using 100%

And then i have to close the game or some other programme. Whats the best way to cure this my system is as follows,

Athlon XP2000
512 MB DDR
Nvidea Gforce 6200
80 GB HDD
Pioneer DVD RW
FDD
350 Watt power supply

I am planning on a new system for NWN2 when it comes out soon so there would be little point spending much on my current system.

Does this message happen when you do anything else?
I take it you never got this on your previous OS (Win 2000 I'm assuming).

Have you tried a simple uninstall and reinstall of the game?

Did you upgrade or do a clean install of XP?

It was a clean install following a format. And i never got the message with my last OS which was windows ME. And so far its only happened with the game.
