winlogon.exe application error

When I try to turn on my computer I keep getting this error message after the Windows XP splash screen...

winlogon.exe application error

The instruction at “0x77f6a25e” reference memory at “0x77f6a25e”. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of “0xc000009c”.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on Cancel to debug the program

If I click either option I am forced to restart my computer. I cannot access windows and it's becoming very frustrating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Send a message via AIM to q2418130103p
does safe mode work, have you attempted a repair installation, its possible you have a bad memory module (but i'd be reluctant to say that)

You have a virus. Try to boot it into safe mode and run a virus scanner.
