CAN'T ISNSTALL Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB917283)
hi gyus i need and advice from you,,i got the latest updates from microsoft..but Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 2.0 (KB917283)...at hte end of the process it gives me:the following update were not installed...i even have the update icon on my tray..
i have winxp/home sp2 zaonealarm...spyware doctor....nod32 antivirus... if somebody know what happen ,please let me know..yesterday i e-mail microsoft and report this issue.. thanks in advance.. |

This seems to be a common problem For XP SP2 Home.
There is a fix that involves a cleanup tool that uninstalls the .net programs, but also breaks any applications that depend on it, so I wouldn't suggest it if you happen to come across it. But, try downloading this update seperately and installing it manually here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en If you have an ATi video card and are running the Catalyst Control Center, you may have to close it before running this update.

glc ..thanks for trying to help me ..but i got lost...never found the Drill-down to Runtime Security Policy
so i did the ZTX instructions from microsoft..it worked: Here's another solution you can try, I received from Microsoft support, for error 0x643: Quote: The issue can be caused by a damaged .NET Framework component. At this time, let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot this issue: Step 1: Download Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility ============================================ 1.Visit: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...BD/msicuu2.exe 2. Save the file to your computer. 3. Install this tool on your computer. Step 2: Remove .NET Framework ======================== 1. Click Start -> (All) Programs->Windows Installer Clean Up. 2.
