macromedia error

Ive been trying to install a program that uses the interent to update my cell phone.

I did it before by downloading the installer, installing it and then using IE to update/download flash player rfom macromedia.com

Sonyericsson.com support page mentions using IE to update/install flash player.

I did this before and it worked.

Now im getting the same error I used to get before.

"Incompatible Macromedia Version.
Required Version available from www.macromedia.com
Application will terminate".

I went ahead and used IE to update/download flash player.

Still not working, so I uninstalled the installer (for my cell), uninstalled flash player, restarted, installed both but still the same error.

Whats going on?

thanks a lot.

Look for a newer version of phone software or a patch to what you have. Adobe bought Macromedia and it looks like the phone software is set to look for an older version - the version that installs now is 9 which the phone software probably cannot recognize.

Any 3rd party shell enhancements have the potential to upset the apple cart, so to speak.
