Low Memory Warnings with 2Gb RAM

I have 4x512 OCZ Platinum 3200 Rev.2 to a total of 2Gb.
The winXP Pro virtual memory settings are set to automatic (winxp decides).
The properties indicate it to be 2Gb minimum and 4Gb maximum.

When i have Photoshop open (set to use 40% of memory = 700Mb) and i am working away in Dreamweaver i get the Low on Memory Warning (twice already).

PC Probe 2 indicates that only 800mb of the RAM is used up and that 1200 remain free!

Can anyone explain why this happens and possibly reccomend a solution?

thnx

How big is your pagefile?

How much freespace is left on your HDD?

When this happens try running taskmanager.

Under the performance tab, look at what the total physical memory is.(how much RAM you have) And then check what the total commit charge is. (what you are using) If the *limit* (RAM+page file) commit charge exceeds or is close to total physical memory you`ve exceeded your physical and virtual memory.
