I just recently had to reinstall windows XP on my computer but now my computer is doing weird things like not fully shutting down and now it keeps asking me for a registration number that I don't have. Where can I get a registration number?

Registration number??
Do you mean a product key? If you have a legitimate version of Windows XP and it has activated, you shouldn't be asked for anything else. If it is asking you to type in your product key before actviation and you don't have the key you are out of luck. A legitimate Windows XP disk should have the key in the packaging or the sticker may be on the computer case somewhere. -Kev

During the Activation process you may be asked if you'd like to Register with MS. Registration is optional but Activation is required. You have 30 days to Activate before you're unable to log into XP.
