XP fax doesnt work now i messed with it

ok i was trying to get XP fax to work but during the installation i manged to get it to miss some DLL's (due to it saying the Dll's could not befound on XPhome disk and that some were newer than the source and the DLL's listed were in i\386 folder but didnt get recognised) and now it wont install fax services properly.ie no fax console and errors

i tried system restore that didnt work, i searched MSKB but nothing coms back about SP2 issues, i tried a reg hack someone suggested and that didnt work either.

i found the DLL cache in system32, is it possible to manually remove the fax related DLL's and try to reinstall XPfax. does it work like that or am i likely to screw the whole thing up?

im really trying to avoid a repair or fresh XP reinstall

the next question is which DLL's should i remove to start afresh install?
i kinda hoping that anything with "fx" in it needs to go

i have another HDD in the system that has windows XP Pro SP2 on it that im pretty sure i didnt install fax services on too compare the two caches But this system im trying to get to work has XP home SP2 on it,

what dya reckon?? (if its possible i'll list all the Dll's with fx in , theres only 15 or so)
