That is the list of all components that have been tested with Windows 2000.

I don't see anything in your system that would be a problem with Win2000. You'll need a minimum of 64mb of RAM, and at least 650mb of free space on a minimum 2gb partition. Your processor should be at or better than the original Pentium 133. A little more memory & a little more room makes things a bit faster, but aren't required.

If glc spots anything I missed, I'm sure he'll drop by with advice, too. For the best security, you'll want to load in the latest Service Pack for Win2000 after your install, and update all the Security Patches since then. I believe the most recent Service Pack for Win2000 was SP4.

Best of luck

Put a Windows 2000 CD in when you are in Windows. Tell it you want to upgrade. Before it makes ANY changes to your system, it will give you an upgrade report - telling you about ANY software or hardware that is not compatible. Any incompatible hardware listed MAY be made compatible by researching Windows 2000 drivers for it.

Your report did not translate well to a Word document - I cannot see ANY hardware details listed.

In my experience, you need 233 MHz and 128mb ram for acceptable performance with Win2000 - and the more speed and ram the better. I would not use anything smaller than a 4gb hard drive.

glc -- what I could see from the attachment was only that the video was a Trident chip ("3D Blade"). The sound was an older ESS (likely also onboard). The NIC was the Linksys LNE TX100. No details for system memory, hard drive, or cpu. Interesting that BelArc didn't detect any antivirus present.

I don't think you can use Server to upgrade a 98 box, which is what you are telling it to do when you pop the CD in when in 98. You will have to find a Pro CD. Any Pro CD will work - retail, upgrade, or NON-proprietary OEM.

Try to find a way to post the full top section of the Belarc report - your post has omitted the whole right column. We need to see all *hardware* details - but cut off all the software stuff (this will compromise your license keys) and remove personal information.
