Exclamation Limited Virtual Memory

When I walked into work this morning, one of our computers; a typical work station that we have set up as a make-shift "server"-->>>meaning all files are saved to this machine had a bit of a problem when one of our employees sat down and read some e-mails. The Blue Screen of Death came on and showed the following message:
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
It then had some instructions on how to fix this, but below it had this error message:
***STOP:0x0000000A (0x0000000C), 0x000000ff, 0x00000000, 0x804E8A13.
It then had a prompt saying it was dumping the virtual memory.
When I restarted the computer, the disk error screen came up and did a scan. It said the file system was "dirty," and said that corrupted files were deleted. Just when I thought everything may have been fine, Windows restarted and when I got to the "Loading Your Personal Settings" screen, a message came up as this:

Your system has no paging file, or the paging file is too small. To fix this problem, go to system in the Control Panel, click the advanced tab, and under performance, click settings. On the advanced tab, click change. Click custom size, and then type an initial or maximum paging file size. There is an option to click "OK" at the bottom of this prompt.

I followed the instructions and got confused when it said to pick an initial and maximum size.
Where is all this coming from, and how can I fix it? Thanks guys!

Could be the hard drive is going bad. Virtual memory is basically a file windows uses on your harddrive.

I use 3x the installed physical ram for both initial and maximum size - up to a max of 4095 mb.

UPDATE:
Same old message with the page filing.. Went into the C-Drive and tried to find the pagefile.syf...couldn't find it. This raised some curiousity. I thought XP usually fixed this file if it were to get deleted. It was weird because I could not even change my page file size. It kept freezing on me. Took apart the case and found that the computer had a Maxtor HDD. Everything appeared to be connected fine. I went to the Maxtor website and looked for diagnostic tools. Used Powemax to diagnose any problems that the HDD may of had. It recommended a full scan, so I did it. It clearly stated that the HDD was failing and back-ups should be made immediately. Good thing we did that yesterday...and now a server is on order so we do not have to worry about this stuff anymore. Looks like I'll be talking with Dell to get us another HDD, cause I think it is still under warranty with the computer. Oh well, this stuff happens I guess.
