Processes taking to long to start

I have like 27 running processes on my task manager whenever I start windows xp. Everytime they start quickly, no lag no delays (I have athlon 64 3200+, Igb ram) For some odd reason after installing a couple of new fans for my case, whenever I start windows only 18 processes start and it takes a looong time for the others to start, on top of that I also got no access to the internet!! I've tried to reinstall al my mobo drivers, windows xp, but my pc still behaves the same. I got no clue whats wrong with my pc.

Does unplugging the new fans help?

I had a multi speed fan plugged directly into the mobo that reaked havoc with a pc....

I had a similar problem too, desktop wouldn't load either.

Had to do a system restore, have you tried that?

Hi all thanks for your responses. I finally isolated the problem: it's either the LAN port or the cable, but it won't connect to the internet, the computer got stucked on that particular process that attempts to connect to the internet. I came to this conclusion by disabling the LAN connection, rebooting and everything started properly as usual, it didn't get stuck on the 18th process. After enabling the connection again, it attempts to connect but it fails to do so.

thing is I was switching the fans back and forth, trying to experiment with getting the best temps, so I was doing a lot of unpluging and pluging (I unplug every cable before going into my pc) maybe I hurt the LAN port on one of this "unplugs".
