More questions needing answers
Can someone please tell me what area of virtual address space is reserved for the core operating system components for a 9x machine?
What file contains everything that occured during the win95 setup procedures, including any crashes and reboot? What file contains all of the successfully detected h/w devices and their associated parameters? I appreciate any and all help. TIA |

Hi again Giovanni
Many of your questions about the Windows 9x architecture can be found over in the Microsoft TechNet archives. They search pretty well, you can point Google to them for the quickest answers. Re: setup.log and hardware detection http://www.microsoft.com/technet/arc....mspx?mfr=true The Microsoft Knowledge Base also has good archives, and you can target you inquiries to specific versions of Windows, or other Microsoft software. Re: Windows 95 handling of Virtual Memory http://support.microsoft.com/kb/128327/ Best of luck . . . Gary |

Gary, thank you for pointing me to those. I was unaware of them. They seem like they are a great resource.

Lots of good info over there. I've spent many an hour visiting them.
