Hard Drive letters changed overnight
Last night there were a couple power interruptions. This morning when I started the computer it showed me a bunch of different hard drives. I SHOULD have C for the normal one and E &F for the two partitions on my USB external hard drive. Now it shows me 6 different ones, 3 E's and 3 G's How do I get this back to normal? Must I re-install XP?

Disconnect the external drive and see what you get.

Power was off for a day, unannounced, and I now have Local Disk C: and my USB shows 2 drive letters again but the wrong ones. It has 2 partitions and should be E: and F; but is showing as E
I) and G J)

You can use Disk Management to change any drive letter in the system except the system drive - which should be C.
