Unhappy Fatal exeptions

I have a custom made (built it myself commputer) with windows 98 installed with an interal Zoom cable mdem. I managed to get on to thhe internet: but then got a blue screen with the first fatal ex Oe: which occurred at 0028c00BDB9 in vxd vmm(01) + 0000ADB9
I then pressed the print screen and got error # 2 "Iexplore caused a stack fault i n module Kernel 32.DLL at 0167:bff7429F I pressed the print screen again and got "Iexplore casused a general preotection fauilt in module kernel386.exeat 001:00007592; the fourth and final error was a fatata error ocuurred at 167: BFF(DFFF
What do these mean How cand I rectify this.

First thing I would do is run diagnostics on the ram.
