installing XP

I just built my first PC, Now I am trying to install XP Pro. After setting up my partitions, and it goes through the first reboot, It starts all over again. and wont go to the next step of installing

Can anyone tell me why it is doing this?..

Did you remove the disc when it reboots?

no, I didnt remove the disk. But I just did and it ask for me to insert a systems disk. Now its going through the initial WINDOWS SETUP again

Make sure your bios antivirus is disabled.

Do you have used or new hdd in any case you should check on the manufacturers web site for utility with witch you can check your hdd and create and format partitions!!!

Don't forget, after the first "press any key to boot from CD" just let it go. Only do that the first time or it will start over.

thx..for the response's but I check my bios and there not an antivirus option, I also went to the maxtor website and set my partitions, no luck. I tried installing it again and after the first reboot, it prompted me to PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD, left it alone and it came up with the error message of A DISK READ ERROR HAS OCCURED.

That is starting to sound like a hardware problem either with the optical drive, the installation media or (yiikes!) the m-board. I had a similar install problem that was only solved when I replaced the board. It was new board, fresh out of the box.
