Quick Launch Toolbar

Heya,

I have the quick launch bar enabled on my task bar and aill i really use on it is the desktop button. However, somehow i moved the button of the quicklaunch bar and its gone. I tried making a new shortcut and then dragging it into the bar but all that does is when i click it, it takes me to a window of all the files on my desktop. My question is how do i get it back so that when i click it, it minimizes everything and just takes me to my desktop? Does anyone understand what im saying? :P
