First of all can you tell us what computer you have, is it store bought branded, if so what make and model or is it custom built?
What version of Windows is installed?

One of the mods may move this to a more appropriate board.

It's never a bad idea to go and collect all your drivers and anything else you may need and burn to a CD or put on a USB drive. This way you won't have to go around downloading drivers once reformated. Oh, and don't forget to back-up any data (documents, pictures, music, etc) that you want to keep. Also, make sure you have the installation files for all your programs (CDs or downloads).

First, rjf's questions should be answered so we can guide you from there.
