First off I would like to say I have a legal copy of windows xp, however I am debating on whether to d/l this update because I believe I heard people had problems with their machines after they did. Can a few people verify if it is OK to d/l it please?

If your copy of windows is legit, you have nothing to worry about. I have installed this update on ALOT of machines and only had a problem with one (the copy was not genuine).

Plus, one advantage of installing it is that microsoft is requiring validation before you can download stuff like excel viewer, microsoft reader, word viewer, and other add-ons.
