XP home BSOD Nothing Else Runs.

Hi there,
My son who has the same computer as myself has hit a major problem, he cannot get computer to boot up at all.
The only thing that he can do is to try and enter safe mode, this lasts for a few seconds before he gets a BSOD, no matter what option he chooses it only runs for a few seconds and then shuts itself down so there is never enough time for a roll back or system restore.
He can select any of the safemode options but gets the same result each time. It tries to run the desktop, it runs for around 45secs to allow most icons to appear then again shuts itself down with THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY THE FOLLOWING Ntsf.SYS PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA OR NT Authority/system server process launcher service terminated unexpectidely.
Any ideas please, it seems to have happened since installing ConvertXtodvd or maybe thats a coincidence.

Please post the complete system specs for this computer. List the parts by brand and model including the power supply.

Is it a home built or name brand computer?

What OS?

Have you tried testing the RAM with Memtest86+ yet?

Memtest is run from a boot media. You use a different computer to create a Bootable cd or floppy and set the bios so the reading device (CD rom or floppy) will boot before the hard drive. Insert the disk or floppy disk, boot and run the test.

An alternate source of using Memtest is by creating an Ultimate Boot CD. Then you can test many hardware devices with one disk.
