I seem to permanently have an Removable Disk( F: ) drive that shouldn't be in my list of drives.
My device manager list includes what looks like bogus USB drivers for my hP photosmart printer which I thought might be related to the problem but when I deleted them from the Device Manager they simply reinstalled themselves. System is: windows xp Pro, Raid(0), floppy, DVD/CD, just the usual stuff, plua a Maxtor external hard drive (listed as the E: drive above the removable f: drive). It is a new computer for which I have been installing my software and peripherals. Should I worry about the f: drive? If so, ideas for removing it? |

Does the printer have a card reader slot? If so, then that's probably the drive.

Yes! It must be the card reader! It didn't register on my old computer, maybe because I had the photosmart attached to a printer server?

Yes, that's pretty likely.
