MCE activation?

I am currently running XP MCE. My question is that i was trying the OS on another computer while i am in the process of building the machine that it will be finnaly installed on. While using the OS i saved some documents on it and The time period for activation ran out. I am under the impression that once you activate it that it has to stay on the computer that it was installed on when you activated it. I was wondering if there was a way to get the documents off the computer without having to activate it
IF anyone know please help, These are very important files and since i am in college i dont really ahve the money to buy another copy of MCE.
Thanks
Ben
