minor disaster in installing XP...
ok, so my XP MCE install kept asking me for a cd to install SP2, and not realizing that this was the first disk, ended up hitting cancel, now the PC is all messed up, cant install drivers etc. can i just use recovery console to fix this? or do i have to totallly reinstalll?
i tried using recovery console, it asks for the admin password, and i didnt make one. do i need to make an admin password? i hate having passwords on comp.

if you havn't activated Xp, I would just format start over to lessen the liklihood of any odd problem popping up. There is nothing wrong with the quick format option.
