Folders I would like to remove

I have XP with all updates. I would like to permanently remove the cyberlink, my music, and my picture folders from my documents. And I would like to get rid of the links folder from my favorites. I delete them but they return upon reboot.

Thanks, Matt

"FREE" Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP

TweakUI has an option to remove/hide the Links folder.

Why bother? Monkeying with system folders can get you in trouble.

Thanks EzyStvy that removed that "links" folder in the Favorites.

GLC, are you saying removing those folders in the My Documents section is wrong? These are the default folders that are labled: "My Music" "My Pictures" & "Cyberlinks" These folders are empty. I have my files in other labeled and organized folders. These are just empty folders that are in the way. I can delete them, but they just come back. Therefore I thought of removing them would not do any particular damage to my computer such as monkeying around with the system folders.

If they keep coming back, that's telling you something.

In a typical XP system the My Videos and My Music folders will be recreated if deleted from the My Documents folder. Here's how to delete them forever:
If you do not want the various subfolders such as "My Videos" and "My Music" from being recreated, just follow these directions.

Disable --

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type the following in the run textbox regsvr32 /u mydocs.dll
4. Click OK
Some programs may take advantage of a few of the features in mydocs.dll. If you notice a program not working correctly, you can re-enable it.
Enable --

1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type the following in the run textbox regsvr32 mydocs.dll
4. Click OK
