Have you supplied all the drivers that are needed by your hardware. The most common place to get these drivers is from the motherboard CD or to download all drivers for your motherboard from the mfger website.

It's going to be very hard to guess the type of hardware drivers that are missing from within the software environment .. PnP like a chicken-or-egg paradox .. you cant identify a hardware resource without a driver, you cant supply a driver without identifying the hardware. Your best bet would be to check the hardware information physically. However, if that is difficult you could try running msinfo32.exe and see if there's something that might clue you in on the hardware.

The motherboard came with an "Intel Express Installer" CD. Put it in the drive, it will autorun and scan your system and come up with a list of needed drivers all prechecked. Install them.

Then you need all the drivers on the page (3-6, and 9 if you are using RAID) that Statica provided the link to. Download them and burn them to a CD or put them on a USB flash drive (USB 1.1 should work without any additional drivers). I would recommend installing Win2K Service Pack 4 first (link below). Then install #6 followed by the others in no particular order.

http://download.microsoft.com/downlo.../W2KSP4_EN.EXE

You may need additional drivers for any cards you have installed - it looks to me like you may have a dialup modem or something in there.

You need to have some way to provide the drivers to the computer; this HAS to be done either thru a network or with physical media .. so you need to find the best way.
If all you can deal with is through a floppy disk then download the requisite files mentioned above to another PC and use a file splitter like HJSplit or WinRARto split the files into a set of digests of the size of a floppy disk (<1.44mb) and copy the files over one at a time.

I assume I should d/l this one first
LAN: Intel® PRO Network Connections [LAN_11.1_ALLOS_PV.EXE] (37200KB)

will that be the one I need to set up network for connectivity?

That's going to be a TON of floppy disks. Just the network driver is 37mb. I'd pull the burner temporarily and install it in another PC, if you put it in a XP computer you won't have to install burning software, the builtin Windows drag and drop should work.

If you are working on PC's these days, you NEED a USB key, go out and buy one, they are quite inexpensive.

1. Install Win2K SP4.
2. Install the driver #6.
3. Install the other 3 in no particular order.

They are ALL installed by simply double clicking on each one and following the prompts.

Do exactly and ONLY what I said and you will be fine, you are reading too much into this procedure. I gave you the link for SP4. Everything can be installed in Windows directly from the CD you made.

There is a GOOD chance the Intel CD will work if you install SP4. You MUST install SP4 in order to get USB 2.0 support anyway.

Now you need the drivers for all PCI cards in the computer. Can't tell you where to get those without knowing what they are. The PCI serial port is probably a dialup modem, as already said.

Sorry GLC, I seemed to have forgotten an open thread on the subject. I've had a hecktect (sp) couple of weeks. So what do you think I need to do? How would I find out what type of drivers they are?

Open up the computer and tell us how many CARDS are in the PCI/PCI-E slots and what they are.

Did you install ALL the drivers I pointed you to?
