Question Uninstall Issue

When I try and uninstall a particular program using the Add/Remove Programs dialogue, I get the following message. C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Chose'Close' to terminate the application.
Whar do I need to do to get this message from coming up. Thanks
