Repair Query

Trying to do a repair on my grandaughters computer. When i enter repair i get the question

Which windows installation would you like to log onto (To cancel, press ENTER)

What number are they after?, it appears that i can only enter 1 letter or digit.

it sounds like you got windows installed twice, you may need to delete one of them.

you might try to boot with the cd, and do a repair install, or you can boot with boot disk and then remove one of the partitions, or even wipe out the hard drive and do a full install new.

I'm just not shure which would be the best method for you.

If there is only one windows installation in that list, it's 1.

What do you plan to do when you are in the console? All you are going to have is a C prompt.
