AIM error message. Memory can not be "written"

I have been getting this error in AIM every few days when I try to initiate a new conversation. The only thing I can do is restart the application. I don't think that this would be caused by AIM itself, but maybe a windows or hardware problem. Any ideas?

This sounds like a code corruption issue, or perhaps a windows security measure. See if data execution prevention is enabled and is set to allow aim to operate without interference. For a corruption aspect, a reinstall of aim is usualy the only fix. As well, a full scandisk can sometimes fix probs such as these.

It can also be bad system ram or even a failing hard drive. Run diagnostics on both.
