I have 2 issues.
First, this is a friends lap top, so I told him I would try to help out. He`s not sure how it happened but there is know no my computer icon or I am not able to find the run to do a search. How do I first, get the my computer icon and the run after I press the start. Thanks for any help
p.s. The lap top is an HP pavilion ze5170 running XP, I`m not able to give more details without the my computer icon. |

When did this first happen? have you tried a system restore? what about virus and malware scans?

Can`t get on line to get anything and I haven`t found anything on the pc to use.
Tried the system restore, got just a blank screen. Last edited by imhowie; 09-15-2006 at 08:30 PM. |

you better go and download tweakui powertoy from microsoft's web site. there are options to get your my computer icon and "run" back.
and .. you can try windows key + pause button combination to get to system properties window. good luck, ozan |
