Load needed DLLs for kernel.

Rcently I been coming across this problem alot with a friends pc.
It says load needed for DLLs for kernel and it wont go on to windows xp pro sp2.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Probably best bet is to boot from the XP cdrom and let it go into the setup program, then just keep going like your going to install windows, once it scans the drive it will detect the already installed version of WinXP, and will ask you if you want to repair the existing installation of windows. Just tell it yes and let it do its thing. You may have to reinstall SP2 and all subsequent updates after that though.

It's probably the only option you have other than a total reformat and reinstall, but the repair installation will preserve your files and programs.

Well at the moment The repair install has failed me and I am need any help/info to extract some valuable documents from the HD..
The frustrating part is the HD has a password to to get in to the pc..
I tried slaving the hd to my system but it wont let me get the files I need because I cant type the password.. Is there a work around for this.. Please help.
