the previous admin account doesnot delete?

I have purchased a new system with WinXP and their was an admin account in the WinXP with the name "Aries", I simply went into the control panel---> user account and then renamed the admin account "Aries" to my name and then I restarted the System.
After restarting, I do see my name in start menu when I log on with this admin account and my name also appears in user account option in control panel.

But when I right click my computer and go into properties, I see the name of "Aries" and when I go into command prompt I see the name of Aries instead of my name their.

Can anyone tell me why I donot see my name in command prompt and system properties?

Should I have created another admin account with my name ,logged in with it and then deleted the Aries admin account?

For the System Properties you need to search the registry for the old name and change it when found.

Send a message via AIM to Panama Red
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\ Current Version.

(navigate by doubleclicking each of these.) In the right pane, you'll see RegisteredOrganization and RegisteredOwner in the Name column. Right-click the one you want to change, select Modify, and on the Value Data line of the resulting dialog box, type the correct information. Click OK, repeat these steps for the other value, if desired, and close the Registry Editor.
