Did I damage my friend's computer?

Wasn't sure where to put this post but anyway. Last sunday I woke up to a nasty surprise. My PC was dead and, after opening the PSU, I found out that the fan was stuck and had probably friend the PSU. Hoping I would only have to replace this item I went to a friend's house where I tested my PC with his PSU. the computer started but there was no boot sequence or nothing. So I started to test my PCs components on his PC: Video card booted up but it only displayed "distortion" so it was obviously fried. memory worked fine and HDD worked fine as well. So diagnosis: Mobo and Video card fried.

So, anyway, we re-assembled his PC all over again, connected everything and booted it up with no problems. But today he called me and told me that his PC isn't booting up. It seems that it's freezing during the "starting win XP" screen (no BSOD). He tried to re-install windows but it locked up at 34%. What's happening? Did I screw up his PC??

Yes, more than likely one of your bad components damaged one of his. His PSU could have gotten stressed when tested in your PC and just took some time to die.
