Corrupted JPG's?

Here is my situation, I have had several folders of pictures on my laptop for many years and I noticed the other day that some of them do not show up on my system when I go into "thumbnail" view? If I click on the picture it seems that only half of the picture shows up, I assume this is some kind of corruption prolly due to the fact that they have been transferred from computer to computer over the years. Is there a way I can fix his? these pictures are very important to me. They are all JPG's taken from a digi cam.

When you open the pictures do they open as normal?

It might be a problem with the thumbs.db file if it is just the thumbnails that don't show correctly!
