Boot up Problem on Asus MB

I have just installed an Asus P4V8X-X motherboard and installed Windows XP everthing works fine except when booting up in DOS I get a message in screen prior to XP starting as follows and part way through it halts waitint for a responce, which it doesn't get.

The Screen display is as follows;-

Disable PME
Intel UNDI PXE-2.0 (build 082)
VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter

extmem_copy ( then set of No's ) pass AH-0008
extmem_copy ( then set of No's ) pass AH-0008
extmem_copy ( then set of No's ) pass AH-0008
extmem_copy ( then set of No's ) pass AH-0008 (then it pauses for 5 seconds)

Client Mac ADR ( set of No's ) GUID (set of No's)
DHCP .... (then pauses for about 60 seconds)

PXE - E53 :- No Boot File Recived

PXE - MOF Existing Intel ROM

Then it carries on and installs Windows XP without a hitch.

I think its something to do with RAID but how can I get it to stop from halting.

I would be grateful for any help

Regards John

Your computer is trying to boot from the NIC (ethernet).

Are you using the on-board NIC or a separate ethernet card?

Is your computer on a network?

How do you get on-line? Dial-up or broadband (cable or DSL)?

The Lan Controller is on board and works fine through a Wireless Modem router this machine is actualy connect via a RJ45 cable to the router.

All the MB Drivers are install 4 in 1, Lan, sound, etc downloaded from Asus as didn't have disk.

The machine works fine with XP, all programs installed, just it seems to halt when its looking for something to do with DHCP ..... the dots increment one every 10 seconds then it carries on and the Windows XP install slider is displayed.

Go into the BIOS and see if you have an option to boot from LAN. If you do, disable it.

And works just fine.
