Aftermath of XP repair

I used the repair function since one important file got corrupted and I cannot open xp, even though in safe mode. Everything is fine now, except the WMP10 where evreytime I try to open it it says: an internal application error has occured. Then I tried to play some stream internet media and I got this: Cannot create direct show player. I tried to install and also got an error. How to fix this?

Uninstall WMP10 and revert back to WMP9 and get it working before you reinstall 10. Reinstall DirectX from the full distribution.
