Network problem with windows xp

I have a problem with a 3 pc workgroup, the 3 pc has windows xp pro sp-2 installed, the 3 are configured with the same workgroup name and group of ip address, but 2 of the 3 pc doesn`t allow to share folder, when I clic the pc Icon in the network neighborhood the error message "Access denied bla bla" is displayed, It doesn`t even let me see what are the shares in the pc, I have tried enabling netbios over tcp-ip, reseting the tcp-ip, disabling firewall, enabling guess acount even with the command net user and nothing has worked.

try this on all three pcs, open up my computer, then go to tools>folder options>views>uncheck simple file sharing on all pc's. then locate the shared folders on each pc, right clilck and choose sharing and security, on the sharing tab, make sure its still shared and under permissions, you should have the everyone group, give it full share access. repeat that step for all shares an all pc's, then try browsing over to each pc and see if you can view the shares. post back with the results

I have tried all that, but why the other computers have access to one computer but the other two doesn´t allow sharing, if they has the same configuration?, that is what I don`t understand, I have disabled windows firewall also. is there any hack or something hidden there?

I had this same problem last week when I installed a Vonage phone modem. You don't by any chance have Vonage installed do you?

no I don`t, I even password protected the guess account and nothing, created accounts in the 3 pc and nothing and I did a Windows repair too, when I double clic a pc in the neighborhood, the access denied message is displayed, is there any registry entry that can be modified to grant access?

i think i had a similiar problem on a network i managed, i had two pc's and the xp home wouldnt work with xp pro and i kept getting the access denied. what i did was remove the shares from both pcs, and went into the start>control panel>administrative tools>local security policy>local policys>security options>Network access: sharing and security models for local accounts

change it from guest only to classic.

then create either the same user name and passwords on all machines or just create one user account for all machines. then recreate your shares, and see if you can get a logon prompt to access the shares.

when you change the policy from guess to classic you mean, classic sharing? or this option change the simple file sharing to use other users accounts instead of only the guess account?

you use user accounts to authenticate to the shares instead of using the guest account.
