Vista Drivers
I have just installed Vista (its so awesome) and I am missing a needed driver for my sound card!! However, this is a laptop, and I haven't the slightest clue what the make or model number is of the sound card. Vista just says it a multimedia device or something like that. Also I would like to update my BIOS, but I'm not sure of the make or model number of my board!!
Can anybody help? ps. I know its a Sony S series VGN-S170B, however on the drivers page I don't know which one is for the sound card, there are so many multimedia drivers! One soundmax driver is on the page of 'Drivers that originaly came with my product', However it is not on the list of new and updated drivers. Also, the BIOS update on that page tells me to "click on the file R007...(not sure of exact file name)" But there is no file with that name. Last edited by whubbard; 10-03-2006 at 06:36 PM. |

If the machine is working why do you want to update the BIOS?
Have you carried out a full Windows update since installing Vista?

Yes I have carried out a full windows update, however, it always helps to instal a newer BIOS update. Things are fixed...etc.
