screen flashing when starting WMP

anytime i go to watch a movie, it flashes black real quick before it starts and then again after i close it... any idea why? (ATI Mobility x1300 video card, and latest catalyst drivers)

I may be mistaken but I'm sure that's perfectly normal behaviour!

Do you mean that the screen in WMP flashes on startup or that you entire monitor display flashes?

The first would be normal, the second would be unusual behaviour!

yeah the whole screen flashes.....


i think i found the problem... my ati card was set ot not run as well on battery it was set to step down after i fixed that so far it hasnt done it again.... does that seem like that could be it to you guys?

Are you talking about a laptop?

I guess that may well be the problem! If it doesn't happen again, then you know that's what was causing it

yep that was it, i just tested it by changing the settings back to "balanced" in the catalyst menu and it flickers if its on that, but its fine if set to performance
