Flash player disappears?
Every couple days or so, the time varies, my flash player will not work. I go to watch a video or go to a site that uses a lot of flash and it will tell me I don't have flash and need t download it.
If I click on the link to download flash it says it successfully downloaded but it will not work. But if I first uninstall flash player then download it again it works, but just for a few days, then I start all over again. Any ideas?

I sent an email to Adobe but have not heard back from them yet.
Did a Google search and found nothing. My computer has a lot of anti virus protection, I never have virus problems so I don't think it's that. If I find a solution I'll let you know. |

I had the same problem just a few weeks ago and here's what I did to get mine to take it right.
If you're using IE, go into the Internet Options area and then into the Security Settings. If you have a default security setting, just set it to Medium, but if you have a custom level selected, make sure that "Download Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" are not disabled. If they are, you need to enable them to either the Enabled state or Prompt state. The other things I had to do was disable the popup blocker in the browser and I had to temporarily turn off my virus scanner. I wasn't crazy about turning off the virus scanner, but it didn't seem to install right otherwise. Before you try to download it again though, you need to download the Flash Uninstaller and totally get rid of any other versions that might still be hanging around on your hard drive. The newer versions of Flash can't be totally deleted through the usual Add/Remove Programs area in Control Panel anymore. You can get the Uninstaller HERE. Just follow the instructions on that page....it's simple and works good. HERE'S the link to download the new version of Flash (for Windows), in case you don't want to go look it up again or don't have it bookmarked. Hope this helps ya.

I did as you suggested in your fix to install flash player. That part worked fine. When I went to Add/Remove it is listed as Adobe Flashplayer 9 ActiveX. Right now it is working fine. But when I clear my temp. internet files it goes too. It is not in ADD/REMOVE. To get it back, I must use the uninstaller and do as you suggested.
Does anyone know why it won't stay installed and how I can fix that? I have no problem with the SHOCKWAVE PLAYER.
