Task bar icons dissapear
I have seen this in windows 98 and xp, when I minimize a program the icon dissapear of the task bar, but if I use alt+tab the program are there open, is there a way to restore the taskbar icons to normal behavior?
note that they are not in the system tray? |

Alt tab is suppost to bring apps up. What do you consider "normal?"

Normal operation would be the icons in the taskbar when I minimize a program but they just dissapear.

I do not have a quick fix, however I have encountered something similar on my Father's PC, what I ended up doing was creating an alternate administrator account and the GUI was how it should have been. Not a permanent fix by any stretch of the imagination. I hope that helps if only in the mean time.

yes I have read that creating a new user fix this, but is there a registry hack to solve it?
