Icon Change Virus

Something changed my Icons on Windows '98. I am not sure what happened. I did a virus check and found two Trojans. Both have been wiped. I reloaded Windows '98. The icons remain changed. How can I restore original Icons? Here is a hint: Everytime I put an Icon on the tool bar it automatically changes.

step 1 - right click on the icon
Step 2 - properties
Step 3 - find change icon(either under shortcut or custimize)

See if that does it for you.

Download TweakUI and install it, it has a function to rebuild icons.

I have tried the Change Icon method. The Icons keep changing when added to tool bar. Also, other Icons have been changed that are not associated with tool bar. I tried to download TweakIU. It asks for a disk. I do not have disk or correct inf to download. I would like more information.

I have already downloaded Tweak UI, as referenced before. I need to address how to start the inf file with a Window '98 SE disk. What can do?

You don't need a 98 disk - you simply right click on the .inf file and select Install.

When I select Install, I get asked for a disk. I have no disk for the install program. Is there another way I can install?

You unzipped the whole TweakUI download into a folder, then right clicked on tweakui.inf in that folder?

I looked for folder. I am not sure where found. There seems to be a disk that the software needs to download.

I download Tweakui.exe. The computer loaded with Safe Mode on Windows '98. Then I rebooted. The Icons changed to original setup. I would like to know how to download Tweak UI.
