Question donk sound

hi all

i keep getting the donk sound thats in xp when you do something wrong running in the background even when i,m doing nothing on the pc
ever 2 mins you hear.................DONK.........i have checked to see if anything is running but nothing is showing in windows task manager
any suggestions would be good

Well if nothing seems wrong then at the very least you could go to the control panel > sound settings > sound scheme, and change the critical beep sound to nothing.

You could have a look in the Event Viewer to see if there are any programs that are erroring.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer

Also it would be a good idea to do a scan for viruses, spyware, malware etc to make sure you aren't infected with anything.

That sound is associated with a "normal" event somewhere in the sounds options. You need to manually review each sound event to see what may be triggering it.
