Very weird ....
Windows 2000 Pro networked. Micosoft Office 2000, Picked up a virus awhile back and comp techs eventually formated the drive and reinstalledl everything, put saved data back, No virus now, ran Ad-Aware.
Main drive checked with mfg disk check program and everything checked out. AMD processor Maxtor 80GB drive 256 ram Techs replaced power supply because of shorting out (machine would not boot completely every time). So far ok on booting after new ps. What is happening before techs got their hands on it and is still happening.... When I try to print to a networked printer the cursor changes to an hourglass as usual but then begins to blink. Sometimes it will print but still blink even after the printing is finished. The only way to get it to stop blinking is to close Word. Sometimes I have to go to task manager and it says that Word is not responding. Sometimes it says running. Have tried Exel and Powerpoint, hourglass dosen't blink but task man says not responding. Also in Word if I go to Find File and into the preview mode it will freeze up and task man says not responding. It will print to the other printer on the network just fine. (Leads me to think that it is a network problem with the first printer). I've reloaded Office twice... no change. Additionally, I can see my computer from other computers on the network but not any data or anything including my c drive even tho it is shared. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Change the default printer to a NON-network printer - use a local printer or a fax driver or a PDF printer or something like that. When you print, just choose the printer you want to use.
If you want to share the whole C drive, you have to create a new share - the default C$ share is an admin share and not user accessible. |
