OK I a bit of a noob
Here's the problem - I upgraded my bios that botched my comp so esupport sent me a new chip. once installed and after changing my clock settings. my comp would boot all the way to my windows admin screen. how ever my usb Mouse(LOGITECH) and Keyboard(Microsoft digital media pro) don't work (as in all lights go out) Now this only happens when my comp is switching from Dos to OS. I can use my keyboard in dos so I know it's not the connections. In the bios the usb 2.0 is enabled to DOS as well as keyboard . I don't have a USB LEGACY SETTING! I have a Frankenstien Comp I had built specifically for music editing in 2000 abit IT7 motherboard htp374 Raid ata/133 pentium 4 2.4 GHZ clocked at 2400(133) 2 maxtor 125g 7600rpm drives I have 6 USB Ports and no Serial Ports OS - Windows xp home edition service pack 2 I am currently at an internet cafe so I can only check this about once or twice a day. ANY Answers would be helpful I tried to do windows repair from the cd (xp home edition). also but now it says it can't find my hard disks. I tried to get the drivers for the ata133 raid mother board but the windows setup says it can't find "Txtsetup.oem" Please help |

If you have a PS/2 keyboard port, use a PS/2 keyboard.

PS/2, not serial - you don't have those either?

Boot it up with Powermax - does it see the drives? If so, run diagnostics.

The IT7 does in fact have PS/2 ports, I just researched it. However, more and more new boards and computers are getting rid of them.
If you loaded the RAID drivers with a floppy and the drives aren't seen, there's a problem with the RAID somewhere. Can you get into the HPT bios settings? Is the HPT controller even enabled in the system bios? |
