Problems with Vista RC2...

I just bought a laptop (HP dv6105us), and got a copy of RC2 from a Microsoftie friend, so I checked the nvidia and hp website if they had drivers to download (they did), so I went ahead and installed Vista on both my desktop and laptop.

My desktop went easy...everything went fine, and I installed it on a seperate partition. Only thing is, it won't recognize my sound card, and downloading the drivers from creative doesn't help because it says I have no sound card installed.

Yet more problems with my laptop. HP screwed something up...I couldn't install vista on a seperate partition, so I overwrote my primary and backup (I made backup dvds beforehand) partitions. The sound drivers from hp installed fine, but I can't for the life of me get video drivers (it's a geforce 6150 fyi). My resolution is stuck at 1024x768, so I really need them. The ones from HP's site don't work (says it doesn't work in a 64 bit environment), and the ones from nVidia give me some other error. Please help...I really want to use vista on my laptop....gahh.

You are going to have to be patient till proper drivers are released. It's still not a production OS.
