freezing problems..please help
i recently reformatted my harddrive last weekend, that is i formatted the drive and installed a clean copy of windows xp. my machine is customised, 1.5 ghz processor, 512mb ram and 40 gb harddrive. when the instllation of windows xp began the computer would freeze every half a minute for around four seconds and then go back to normal and would do this every half a minute continiously!! it is extremely irritating. the strange thing is that it didnt do this before the format. after a few days of this i then tried formatting the machine again and found i still had the same problem!! if anyone is able to help i would be extremely grateful. thanks

www.memtest.org
Test your ram memory, and check your system and CPU temperature( http://www.lavalys.com/ )!!! Is this a triple post???

Also test your hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostics.
