Laptop - standby
Generally speaking, how long is it recommended we leave a laptop on standby?

There really isn't a general amount of time...all laptop batteries will last a different length of time. I think hibernation is better than standby because it saves an image of everything that you are doing to the hard disk, so even if the battery runs out, you don't loose anything
