Ecrypting batch files

Hi

is there a way to encrypt the text in a batch file? I am currently installing new servers XP 2003 in schools and there is a large database program that the school staff use which has to be updated monthly. I keep getting asked the question "can you automate the update facility as it takes a lot of time doing it manually"? i looked up the relevent information from the database website and came up with a batch file that will automate the process via windows scheduler. My problem is that i have to enter a username and password in the batch file for it to work. Obiviously this has security implications as the username and password are clearly visible. My question therefore is there a way to encrypt the password to begin with then unencrypt it before the schedule task commences? Thanks

Hi EzyStvy

The server hosts all the applications, users accounts etc and is the domain controller for the admin network being tied down through Group Policy and AD. Once the main database is updated the users workstations are then automatically updated when they logon to the system. Therefore i would only use the batch file on the server.

can you create a folder and place that batch file in the folder you created and encrypt the folder. finally lock down that folder by changing NTFS permissions.
