RAID Array

I am trying to remove a RAID array and turn it back to a a two HDD system. I tried booting thru my WINXP home disk to do a "repair" and got the STOP: 0x00000007B message.
I didn't try hittting F6 and installing drivers eihter.

This is an Asus P5LD2 deluxe board with two WD SATA drives.

How can i remove the raid array and just go back to a 2 HDDD drive format?

I'm thinking I have to install the raid drivers at F6 on the windows install and then uninstall the raid array after, is that correct?

You can't do that. You have to back up your data and wipe the drives.

that's what I started out to do. but I couldn't boot thru my xp cd. I wanted to format the drives and and do a normal install. Then I got the STOP error.
What is the best way to wipe the drives?

WD's DLG Diagnostics has a zero fill option. Make sure you change the SATA controller back to standard before trying to reinstall Windows. You won't need drivers after you do that.

Have you been in the BIOS and disabled the raid?
Or unhook one of the drives....
